Kitchen Lithography Workshop for Melihat Air Bekerja (Watch The Water Works)
This is a workshop I worked with Gulung Tukar Collective for a project titled Melihat Air Bekerja, or translated as Watch The Water Works. The background of this project is to pay homage to the rivers in Tulungagung - a small, industrialised town in East Java, as it is slowly deteriorating because of the pollution from factories built in the past fifteen years. This workshop plays a role to give options for local artists to explore other materials in printmaking. Printmaking has gained a popularity in Tulungagung, responding to its industrialisation. The materials used in this projects were a more sustainable options in printmaking and Kitchen Lithography is not as well-known as other printmaking techniques in Tulungagung.
